Fun and Vibrant Website for a Dog Training and Daycare Center in Chico

The Canine Connection, founded by Dr. Sarah Richardson, serves dogs through professional training, doggy daycare, and overnight boarding. Sarah reached out because her website felt outdated and didn’t reflect the vibrant, energetic atmosphere her business is known for.
With a loyal following and a stellar reputation, The Canine Connection needed a website that felt just as fun, credible, and welcoming as their services are in real life.
The Problem
While The Canine Connection’s business was thriving, their old website wasn’t keeping up. The dark color scheme, generic fonts, and clashing design didn’t reflect the lively personality of their brand. It was also confusing for visitors to understand the different services offered at the two separate locations (training and daycare/boarding).
Although they had hundreds of fantastic photos of real dogs they had worked with, those images weren’t being used to their full potential to tell their story. Most importantly, their website didn’t do enough to highlight Sarah’s credibility and the impressive reputation she had built over the last two decades.
Sarah needed a website that would:

THE SOLUTION
I gave The Canine Connection a complete refresh that finally matches the heart of their business. I pulled the new color palette directly from their real outdoor photos—full of vibrant blues, reds, and teals—so the colors and images would blend naturally together.
To keep the design feeling fun and inviting, I incorporated cheerful accent colors, brightened the overall layout, and added playful icons. I also made sure to highlight their credibility right away by placing affiliated logos in a rotating carousel at the top of the home page, and included a "Facts About Us" section that tells the story of their success through impressive statistics.
For their services, we clearly separated training from daycare and boarding, with thoughtful navigation that helps visitors quickly find the right offering for their dog. Instead of stock images, the entire site is built around real moments with their actual dogs and clients—making the whole experience feel more genuine, trustworthy, and engaging.
The Result
The Canine Connection’s new website finally reflects the fun, professional, and trusted brand they’ve built over the last two decades. It’s bright, energetic, and easy to navigate, while also highlighting their deep experience and the hundreds of dogs they’ve helped along the way.
One important thing to remember is that websites aren't one-size-fits-all. The Canine Connection’s site looks totally different from the site I created for Janice Z Dog Training - and that's exactly how it should be.
