Colorful and Zen-Inspired Website for an Award-Winning Dog Training Center in Houston
BELIEVE IN DOG
Believe In Dog, led by owner and head trainer Stephanie Bennett, is a thriving dog-training business with a one-of-a-kind, “cool, zen-like” vibe. Over the years they’ve expanded far beyond basic training - adding new services, talented staff, and even a retail boutique that reflects their modern, dog-friendly culture.
Stephanie reached out after a disappointing first experience with another web designer. She needed someone who truly understood the dog-training world and could translate the calm, welcoming, yet stylish energy of her brand into a website that finally felt like them.
Stephanie explained, “I very much wanted a designer that could actually take information from my old website, and create something to represent what the business had grown into. I was beginning to wonder if that kind of website designer actually existed.”
The timing was critical. Believe In Dog had just won the 2025 PETS+ “America’s Coolest” Award and would soon be featured in PETS+, a national magazine. Their new site needed to be ready to impress before the feature went live and drove an influx of new visitors.
The Problem
Believe In Dog’s previous site was nearly seven years old. While the business had grown and evolved, the website hadn’t kept pace:
The design felt flat and didn’t reflect the colorful, playful logo or the calm, spa-like atmosphere of their facility.
The content was heavy on long text blocks that were difficult to read quickly, which made it harder for visitors to quickly understand the services.
The color palette was limited almost entirely to blue, leaving the site feeling cold and one-dimensional.
Stephanie wanted a fresh design that showcased their personality, highlighted their award-winning credibility, and gave potential clients an effortless browsing experience.
“The old website was also missing the cool, zen-like vibe and culture we had developed,” Stephanie said.
THE SOLUTION
I started by building a color palette inspired by their vibrant logo. Infusing these colors throughout the layout not only made the site visually cohesive but also gave Call To Action buttons a bold pop of color, guiding visitors’ attention right where it needed to go.
To capture the zen-like ambiance, I incorporated subtle floral-inspired background icons in the hero areas throughout the sections. These soft touches give the site its distinctive, peaceful vibe.
For typography, I chose a unique heading font (Prata) for a relaxed look that feels approachable yet polished. I also restructured the content into clear headings and concise paragraphs, making the pages easier to read and improving SEO at the same time.
One of Believe In Dog’s biggest assets was their library of vibrant, professional photos of happy dogs during training and gorgeous shots of their facility. I wove these images throughout the site to give potential clients a glimpse of the Believe In Dog experience.
The Result
Believe In Dog’s new website now reflects everything that makes their business special. It’s stylish yet serene, professional yet approachable, colorful yet calm.
The streamlined navigation, compelling visuals, and balanced copy have made the site more welcoming and easier for new visitors to understand and engage with. Most importantly, the design highlights their credibility as award-winning industry leaders.
Stephanie now has a beautiful, functional website that attracts new clients, supports their continued growth, and finally showcases the heart and culture of Believe In Dog.
